Discover The National Parks

100 Years of The National Parks Service is a publication celebrating the original National Parks ad campaign in the 1930s, which were a series of screen printed posters using images of the beautiful vistas the parks had to offer. The campaign was an effort to get people to vacation at home in America rather than go abroad, in a time where the economy needed
people spending money at home.
The book is designed around an essay by Susan Meritt for AIGA Eye on Design entitled ‘Celebrate 100 Years of the National Park Service with a Hunt For Lost Posters’. It tracked the history of the posters and the recent reworkings of them in the last few decades.
This book was a narrative-specimen book, with each section exploring the typography of some of the National Parks posters. It was an engaging exploration of the main typeface classifications and relating them to the posters.
Éicea - Newsletter/ Magazine
I designed this small news publication to accompany a font I designed. Both are centred around the philosophy of national environmentalism.
